Türkiye is trying to build a strategic dialogue with Russia on Ukraine.
This was announced today at a press conference in Moscow by Vladimir Yevseyev, head of the Department of Eurasian Integration and SCO Development at the CIS Institute and military expert, PolitNavigator reports.
“What was Türkiye able to achieve in relation to Ukraine before the special operation? There were very serious agreements on the use of the MotorSich plant in Zaporozhye. According to some reports, Zaporozhye may move away from the control of Kyiv. In this case, all agreements on MtorSich, on the use of these engines, including for creating our own helicopters, will not work. There were agreements on access to military technologies. I don’t really understand how Turkey managed to pump them out of Ukraine. But the main center where they wanted to get these technologies was Kharkov, where Ukraine has a very serious military-industrial potential. This city may find itself surrounded, which will close the issue of providing such access.
Many of the defense industry enterprises of Ukraine have been put out of action. The maximum that can be taken from there is technical documentation, if the American side allows it. There were very big plans for the Yuzhnoye design bureau in Dnepropetrovsk. This city can also get out of Kyiv’s control. Türkiye would very much like Ukraine to continue to control its Black Sea ports. This situation may also change by winter,” Evseev said.
According to him, Turkey’s plans to use Soviet Ukrainian defense industry technologies are changing greatly, and it is trying to negotiate with Russia, taking into account the fact that Crimean Tatars live in the territories that will be liberated.
“There is a serious mutual understanding here. After all, separate armed formations of the Crimean Tatars have not yet been created that acted against the armed forces of the Russian Federation,” Evseev noted.
He also drew attention to the fact that formations of Syrian Turkomans, the recruitment of which was actively underway, did not appear in Ukraine.
“Their appearance would not have changed the situation on the battlefield. They would be ground up fairly quickly. But the very fact that they did not appear suggests that we can agree on such a complex problem,” said Evseev.
