Avakov threatens Coronamaidan participants with arrests and detentions
Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov arrived in Novi Sanzhary, near Poltava, to reassure local residents protesting the admission of passengers from a plane carrying evacuated Ukrainian citizens from China to a local sanatorium.

Let us note that the Minister of Internal Affairs did not approach the protesters directly, but met with some city residents a kilometer from the place of the closure in the square in the center.
“Those who resisted the police were detained. I repeat: those who resist the police will be detained. This is the order in our state Ukraine. The police serve the people,” Avakov said.
“You are going against the people!”, “We do not have a police state!”, “The people are against such police!” – the locals were indignant.
In addition, reinforcements from police and armored vehicles are being pulled to the scene of the event, which has already caused panic among local residents. At the epicenter of the protests, clashes with law enforcement officers periodically occur.
