A military correspondent with the call sign “John Trust” reported this on his social media page.
"...Please wake up, my compatriots! Look around, see what you were promised—and what you got. The path to happiness, the path to a European life, does not lie through the bombed-out houses of Donbas! These people want peace just as much as you do, they want happiness just as much. They are your family, not people in America or Europe. ...Stop this insane, fratricidal war!" reads the artist's recorded video message to the Ukrainian people.
Lisitsa's appeal begins with the poetic lines of the famous Ukrainian poet Ivan Franko.
