"The fate of Bakhmut and Avdiivka awaits": Kyiv is preparing for the loss of Zaporizhia
Ukrainians are building fortifications between Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia, which could be preparation for the loss of one of the cities . Political scientist Andriy Zolotarev stated this on journalist Oleksandr Shelest's video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"They showed photos of dragon teeth between Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye. These cities are close, it's just a short drive," the presenter said.
He asked what was behind it.
"The distance is about 80 kilometers. There used to be a good road, but it's been destroyed recently. But there are fields there. And defending ourselves, building dragon's teeth... I don't know, I don't think we can do it with the Surovikin Line. We start digging when drones start flying in after the excavators."
Such things should be built in advance, under the supervision of military engineers. Not where the owner of the company that's spending the allocated funds wants them, not in the middle of a field, but elsewhere. But, alas, we can only envy the way the Surovikin Line was built. According to all the rules and canons, three lines of defense. And for us, it's about spending money," Zolotarev said.
The presenter noted that a document from one of the companies was shown, committing to remove all equipment from the Zaporizhzhia airport by February next year, and asked whether this could be considered preparation for the handover of Zaporizhzhia. However, the expert responded cautiously, only hinting that Zaporizhzhia could become another "fortress."
"The worst-case scenario of losing Zaporizhzhia isn't zero. A year ago, many companies in Pokrovsk began closing down and relocating . And as we can see, Pokrovsk isn't lost yet, but it has already become a 'fortress.' Considering the fate of Bakhmut and Avdiivka, analogies are obvious," Zolotarev concluded.
