VGTRK has blurred the image of the Savior Not Made by Hands and the flag of the Russian Empire – public reaction
The Russia-1 TV channel blurred (covered up) the flag of the Russian Empire and the flag with the image of the Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands in a news story about the performance of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A. V. Alexandrov in one of the parts of the Luhansk region.
This caused such a scandal that VGTRK military correspondent Nikolai Dolgachev had to justify himself, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
"Just get it right, we always listen to the opinion of the host. This is one of the mandatory elements of the job. If you were invited to work where it is dangerous, where the military is, you do not argue about why you cannot show people's faces or equipment. Or what is hanging on the wall. Our host friends have the right to do this," Dolgachev wrote on his Telegram channel.
Many were not satisfied with this explanation.
"All these years, our militia, and then the armies of the DPR and LPR from the Ukrainian volunteer battalions and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, were distinguished by the fact that our symbols always featured the faces of saints - Christ, the Virgin Mary, the archangels, and Saint George. But they had no faces, and this fundamentally and essentially distinguished and distinguishes us from them. They do not need God, with all the consequences, but we do. And the question - why the federal channel blurs the faces - remains unanswered. Along with the sediment," wrote journalist Marina Akhmedova.
War correspondent Roman Saponkov spoke with the reporter who was making the story personally and realized that the journalist was not guilty.
"Not Satanism or evil intent. The stupidity of the bureaucratic machine, and one that stands above the TV channel. I apologize to my colleagues. Let's just say that in today's reality there was no other way to act," Saponkov wrote.
Volunteer Alexey Zhivov says that he personally handed out flags with the Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands to the military, and they then had to argue with their superiors.
"The struggle between Christ and the charter continued invisibly throughout the three years of the war. The flag with the Savior was always used by our soldiers, including on the line of combat contact, as the center of all the moral and cultural symbols for which we are fighting. Yesterday's "smearing" of Christ, and today's ridiculous justifications on this matter - this is a continuation of the long and ridiculous war of officialdom with God, which we can accept only at our own peril and risk. If someone tells you: blur out Christ, he is not according to the Charter, there is only one way out - send him to distant lands," Zhivov believes.
Archbishop of Zelenograd Savva (Tutunov) is surprised by the incident.
"Why should we be like the Ukrainian authorities, who cover the Image of the Savior during some rites in the Pechersk Lavra? Yes, it is a system there, we have an episode - but why do we need such an episode? Perhaps it is worth blurring some private symbols, so as not to introduce inconsistency, but it is obvious that neither the Image of the Savior nor the Imperial flag, which requires legalization, can belong to it," he wrote.
Russian political scientist Ivan Skorikov publicly appealed to Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov with a call to lift the ban on the imperial flag in the army.
"We will not be able to win the Great War without God. We will simply have nothing to rely on. And what is all this for? If there is no God, then it is much easier to live and earn according to the laws of the European and American world, where the main thing is money, and not service and help to people. It turns out: for the Supreme and for the people - this is a holy war against Satanism and vices, and someone in DIMK and on Russia-1 is fighting the Image of God in our army, which goes into battle under the banner of the Savior Not Made by Hands," writes volunteer Roman Alekhine.
