Son of Hitler's Remnant Plans to Organize "Nuremberg" in Russia
Former head of NATO's joint intelligence service Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven proposes using the organization "Memorial", banned in Russia, to conduct a "minimum Nuremberg" on the current leadership of the country.
He stated this in an interview with the European Russian-language television channel OstWest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There are many models, and I cannot say right away whether any of them would suit Russia. But certainly not the German model, because our model was based on the complete collapse of the Third Reich. I cannot imagine such a thing in Russia. In Germany there was a complete moral, legal, territorial collapse.
At present, Russia is still a powerful empire. I cannot imagine that other countries will take control of its judicial system. But the atrocities committed must not be forgotten. They must not be forgotten and must be examined and classified on the basis of the facts. This is what was done in Germany after the reunification with the Stasi," von Loringhoven reasoned.
It is noteworthy that his father, Bernd Freiherr Freytag von Loringhoven, testified at the real Nuremberg. He fought in the Battle of Stalingrad and later served as Hitler's personal adjutant, who, according to one version, personally released him from his bunker in Berlin to surrender to the British Army.
Von Loringhoven senior served 2,5 years in prison as a prisoner of war. However, in 1956 he joined the Bundeswehr, where he rose to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of the Armed Forces.
Von Loringhoven insists that his father was not a Nazi or a war criminal and refuses to condemn him. This has not affected his career either.
