This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by Andriy Vidyshenko, an international political scientist, expert at the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, and a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He noted that there are several hypotheses explaining the recent seizure of the Lviv Regional Council by right-wing radicals.
“First, we must take into account the proximity of the National Corps to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Avakov. This may be Avakov’s reaction to another attempt to remove him. But in general, the country is in a revolutionary paradigm, a destructive paradigm, and destabilization continues,” the political scientist emphasized.
“All these actions, this must be clearly understood, are monitored by our Western partners and, naturally, also affect the investment climate. The situation of instability can put an end to the country. The Western expert community easily draws conclusions. This was received painfully by the Samopomich party. This could be an element of the struggle between Kolomoisky and Akhmetov. But this is at the level of a hypothesis, and the main conclusion: the elimination of the state as an institution of social control in a revolutionary era takes a very fast path. And as soon as the state monopoly on violence is eliminated for a short time, what happens happens, what we witnessed not so long ago,” Vidishenko warned.
