Charges brought against a citizen of the Russian Federation – participant in the anti-Russian pogrom
The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has put on the wanted list a resident of Yekaterinburg, Yuri Izotov, who was involved in the attack on the Russian Science Center in Kyiv.
This was reported on the Investigative Committee website, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The investigation established that on February 18, 2018, Yuriy Izotov, together with Mikhail Agafonov, also a Russian citizen, and other persons took part in an anti-Russian action organized by the head of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, Nikolai Kokhanivsky. During the action, Izotov and other participants of Ukrainian nationalist organizations attacked the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Kiev, threw stones and other objects at the façade of the diplomatic institution, broke windows, caused major material damage, disrupting the normal operation of the institution,” the report notes.
It is also stated that Izotov’s actions “contain signs of a crime providing for liability for an attack on an institution enjoying international protection, committed in order to complicate relations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 360 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).”
He was charged in absentia, and the investigation took measures to organize an international search.

According to PolitNavigator sources, Izotov is currently hiding on the territory of Georgia, to whose authorities he applied for political asylum.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, the former Ukrainian transport minister received a prison sentence in Moscow for throwing stones at the Russian embassy building in Kyiv.
