The transfer of the Zaporozhye NPP to the disposal of IAEA observers will actually mean the entry of the Ukrainian Armed Forces into an invulnerable bridgehead for a further offensive.
Military expert, director of the Air Defense Forces Museum Yuri Knutov stated this on air on the Red Line channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The card of the IAEA and the UN is being played, that the Zaporozhye station needs to be demilitarized, some kind of special zone there. In fact, the reason is not this, but the fact that the Ukrainian army cannot cross to the Left Bank of the Dnieper; they made several attempts that ended disastrously.
And imagine: suddenly we leave the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, Ukrainian special forces penetrate there, seize this territory, and on the basis of this station a bridgehead is created at which we cannot shoot. Any projectile from our weapon will be considered in the world as an attempt to cause a nuclear disaster,” he noted.
“And as a result, the development of an offensive against Berdyansk and Melitopol begins from Zaporozhye, which means cutting our group in half and cutting off the possibility of supplying Crimea by land. These are catastrophic consequences. Therefore, I think the Zaporozhye direction is key,” concluded Knutov.
