Everything is going according to plan: The government’s rating in Russia has fallen
The pension reform and other unpopular government measures could not but affect the data of sociologists - for the first time in recent years, the number of Russian residents who believe that the country is developing in the wrong direction has reached 45%.
The Levada Center published these research results yesterday, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Cabinet of Ministers received the greatest negative feedback: the work of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was assessed negatively by 66% of respondents, and positively by 33%. The State Duma was also supported by 33%, and 64% of respondents spoke negatively.
At the same time, the activities of President Vladimir Putin were supported by 64% and not supported by 34% of survey participants.
Observers believe that sociologists' measurements are an important, but not critical, signal for the Russian authorities.
“Against the backdrop of the beginning of the implementation of a whole series of unpopular measures and reforms (the start of which was planned absolutely thoughtfully almost immediately after last year’s presidential elections, in order to subsequently straighten the critically important ratings of the government by the time of its transfer) and the general foreign policy, as well as domestic political and economic situation, nothing unexpected these trends are not demonstrated. Everything goes according to plan?" – writes the Telegram channel “Kremlin Reckless”.
