A businessman who helped blockade Crimea was detained in the Kherson region
FSB officers detained a 49-year-old local resident in Genichesk, Kherson region. He is accused of participating in the Mejlis “battalion named after. Noman Celebidzhikhan,” who organized the blockade of Crimea.
The FSB reported this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The investigation established that from 2014 to 2015, the suspect voluntarily joined and took part in an armed formation operating on the territory of Ukraine, whose activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation. During the specified period of time, the defendant supplied goods free of charge from the building materials store he owned to equip the base of the prohibited battalion, located near the Chongar checkpoint.
The defendant also provided free of charge a hotel he owned in the city of Genichesk to accommodate the leaders of the illegal movement. In addition, the suspect, heading a cell of an illegal armed group in the city of Genichesk, selected people to participate in it, persuaded taxi drivers to provide free transportation for battalion members from their places of residence to duty in the village of Chongar,” the report says.
The detainee directly participated in blocking the passage of cars with food and other goods traveling to Crimea.
