Kyiv, April 2015 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – In 2015, coal production in Ukraine will fall by more than half, predicts the head of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine, Mikhail Volynets.

“In 2013, 83 thousand tons of coal were produced in Ukraine. In 700 - already 2014 million tons, while all the coal was removed from the occupied territory, leaving about 65 million tons. I assume that in 3 less than 2015 million tons will be produced in Ukraine, perhaps somewhere around 40 million tons. We must take into account that this is not always high-quality coal and has a high ash content, and that not the entire volume of this coal will be removed from the occupied territory,” the trade unionist said at the second Energy Forum of the “All-Ukrainian Energy Assembly.”
