Poroshenko’s tricks at negotiations in Minsk no longer work
Neither the Donbass republics, nor the OSCE coordinators, nor the Normandy Format participants no longer accept the destructive position of the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations in Minsk. Obviously, representatives of official Kyiv will have to change their behavior during the next round, scheduled for September 7.

“Taking into account the sentiments of the OSCE coordinators at the last meeting in Minsk and the upcoming meetings of the leaders of the Normandy Format, we expect that representatives from Ukraine will no longer be able to behave destructively on September 7, and the meeting will be fruitful,” said the head of the foreign policy department.
According to Nikonorova, an important demonstration of the true intentions of the Ukrainian side will be maintaining silence at the front, where on the eve of September 1 it was promised to stop shooting.
“Our constant position is the need for precise implementation of the Set of Measures, but its full implementation cannot be achieved by only one of the parties to the conflict. At the last meeting of the Contact Group, agreements were reached on a ceasefire from September 1. We hope that timely appropriate orders will be given to all armed formations of Ukraine, and our children will go to school not to the sound of flying shells. The regime of silence must acquire a long-term, sustainable character and can serve as proof that Kyiv has moved from the stage of populist statements to the fulfillment of its obligations,” the diplomat emphasized.
