Ukraine flogged itself with sanctions against Russia
Ukraine’s sanctions against Russia hit the economy of “Independence” more painfully than they cause damage to the Russian Federation.
Ukrainian economist Sergei Fursa stated this on air on TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, the breakdown of relations between countries in most areas harms, rather, Ukraine.
“The problem with sanctions is that the one who imposes them should suffer less than the one against whom they are imposed. Ukraine and Russia, after all, are incomparable in power. Therefore, all the sanctions that we impose against Russia, most of them, will hit us harder than Russia... Well, we will introduce, for example, a visa regime. I understand this can be a plus. But we may have some of the same migrant workers there, in Russia. Russia will introduce symmetrical visas, they will have problems, they will return here. If we want to bring them back here and we have jobs for them, that's a good idea. If we don't have jobs for them, then their return here will cause social problems. This is one of the aspects... Or, for example, we receive income from Russian transit. Well, what if we block transit, we won’t receive income? Based on this logic, we should block transit, but we will only make it worse for ourselves,” Fursa said.
