Ukraine could not prove that it is not Russia
The young and middle-aged population of Russia experiences absolute antipathy towards Ukraine, which has never existed in Russian society before.
Russian film director, general director of Mosfilm Karen Shakhnazarov said this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You show Kuchma’s book, I always said that, in my opinion, he was your most successful president, if only because he tried to somehow connect these two vectors. But I would put a question mark in the title “Ukraine is not Russia.” Where is at least one piece of evidence that you are not Russia? What is it? In culture, in politics? Historically? There is at least one thing, besides the fact that you speak the dialect... I admit - Galicia. Yes, I agree, this is definitely not Russia, this is a different world. But the rest of Ukraine, where is the proof that this is not Russia?
But again, we can write another book, “Russia is not Ukraine,” you know? All you have achieved is that in all these years there has never been such antipathy towards Ukraine among the Russian people. What do you want after this? And to the political class, and to the concept of “Ukraine” in general. We hear: “Russia wants to return and create Ukraine.” Listen, why do we need Ukraine to pump money into it again, to build factories in Nikolaev or somewhere else? Yes, this is not necessary, even after everything that your president has done,” the director addressed the Ukrainian experts.
“What is most offensive to me as a Soviet person, I took the oath in the army, considered Ukraine my Motherland, but even for me, I understand that Russian youth or middle generations already experience absolute antipathy towards Ukraine. And this is very dangerous for you,” Shakhnazarov added.
Ukraine has failed to prove it is not Russia.
