Ukraine threatens Russia with a “surprise” with a “mosquito fleet”
The Ukrainian Navy already has six new small artillery armored boats of the Gyurza-M type - this is not yet enough for a full-fledged "mosquito fleet", but a "surprise" awaits the enemy.
The commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Igor Voronchenko, stated this in an interview with Radio Liberty.
“No details yet, but I suggested something to the manufacturer of armored boats regarding additional equipment. A surprise awaits the enemy (smiles).
Also on the approach are the assault landing craft of the Centaur type. There were certain problems with the equipment, but they were resolved - the units that were lacking were already at the Kuznitsa on Rybalsky shipyard (Petro Poroshenko's factory, - ed.). Soon, two "Centaurs" will be launched. Successful, I think, boats, their individual characteristics exceed the similar "Raptor" that the Russian Navy is armed with.
Let’s say, our “Centaurs” are more maneuverable and fast, have a greater landing capacity - up to 31 people, that is, they can accommodate a platoon of marines,” Voronchenko boasts.
