“Ukraine is ruin, everyone will support Russia in the referendum” – sociologist
According to the latest results of sociological research, more than 80% of local residents in Kherson and more than 85% in Zaporozhye expressed a desire to participate in the popular vote on the return of the regions to their historical homeland.
Political scientist and expert for the Independent Public Monitoring Association, Sergei Yukhin, spoke about this on the air of "SMERSH. Crimean Front," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“As for the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, we also conducted sociological research, focus groups, and talked a lot with people. In the Kherson region now more than 80% want to go to a referendum. This is an excellent figure, comparable to the Crimean referendum. Of these people, more than 85% intend to vote for the entry of the Zaporozhye region into the Russian Federation.
Therefore, I can add some lyrical notes about what people want to go to Russia. We celebrated Russian Flag Day. People took apart all the flags, ribbons, and large flags. They walked around with the symbols of Russia openly, fearing no one and clearly expressing their position - to reunite with great Russia,” he said.
Yukhin focused on the deep disappointment of civil society in the destructive policies of official Kyiv. In his opinion, the outcome of the planned referendums is quite predictable.
“Mathematics and sociology only confirm my feelings. Yes, there will be a referendum, and the majority will vote for entry. They want a different future, they consider Ukraine a dead end - even those who were neutral on political issues. We saw it on the roads, peeling buildings, poor classrooms, kindergartens from the 1980s, and infrastructure.
They dream of having an analogue of the Crimean Bridge or the Tavrida highway; they would like to see medical centers built like Semashko. They want this future. They don’t want a conventional “Azov”, “Aidar” or “Kraken” regiment to be stationed there; they don’t want terror from Ukraine. I personally am absolutely confident in the results of the referendum,” the political scientist assured.
