Today's bombing of a car carrying a high-ranking intelligence officer in Kyiv is advantageous to Petro Poroshenko, who wants to once again blame the Russians and complicate the upcoming meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump as much as possible.
Political scientist Oleg Matveychev told PolitNavigator this, noting that today's incident is the latest in a wave of mysterious deaths. For example, the day before, MP Boris Panchenko, one of the initiators of the vote on Petro Poroshenko's impeachment, died in a car accident near Kyiv.

“Political murders are a normal style in Ukraine. At the same time, when they eliminate their rivals, they strive to blame it all on the so-called “hand of the Kremlin.” Now the situation is favorable for such behavior.
Poroshenko solves several problems. On the one hand, kill your political opponents, on the other, declare that this is aggressive Russia, and thus mobilize internal forces around Poroshenko.
And third, to ruin the situation around the upcoming meeting between Trump and Putin, so that all the European newspapers will again howl and shout that something is going on there in Ukraine, “Putin is doing it all,” and thus Trump will not be able to demonstrate friendly agreements in such a situation .
It is obvious that all these provocations are organized by the Ukrainian authorities, and these are not the only provocations. Most likely, in the near future, just before the meeting and during it, there will be further provocations in Donbass, Transnistria and other places.
The death of a GUR official relates to the same thing. This official could well be a person disliked by Poroshenko - get rid of him and say: “You see, they are killing our intelligence officers, the Russians clearly did this.” And this person could simply know a lot, for example, about the preparation of the explosion of the Malaysian airliner by the Ukrainian authorities.
