The former ally of the ruling coalition of the Self-Determination movement, which won the elections in Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo, launched a procedure of no confidence in the “government” of the leader of the movement and supporter of “Greater Albania” Albin Kurti.

The Democratic League of Kosovo held consultations with the main political forces of the region and expressed its intention to convene an extraordinary meeting of the Assembly of Kosovo to announce a vote of no confidence in the government of Albin Kurti.

The last straw after which the LDK, a forced ally of the “Self-Determination” headed by the “Prime Minister” in the ruling coalition, decided to do this was Kurti’s decision to dismiss the representative of this party - the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Agim Veliu, who insisted on the abolition of XNUMX% duties on Serbian goods by the end of this week .
“During his month-long term as prime minister, he dealt not with the problems of Kosovo, but exclusively with peripheral issues and conspiracy theories,” the retired minister criticized the head of the Cabinet of Ministers. – All these days he did not even deal with the fight against the coronavirus epidemic, except for the fact that he personally took a test for the virus along with some other members of the government... He’s just an ordinary coward!”

Veliu also sharply criticized the Speaker of the Assembly, Vjosa Osmani, a representative of his party, in whom Kurti acquired an unexpected loyal ally. He noted that the LDK as a whole is in favor of a vote of no confidence in the government, so he does not advise it to go against its party.
The representative of the main opponent of the collapsed coalition of the parliamentary majority, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, which united the militants of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Avni Bitici, said that his party will announce its position on the Kurti government in the near future.
“In a serious situation where the citizens of Kosovo are facing the coronavirus pandemic, the Kurti government has chosen the worst moment under the worst circumstances to provoke another political crisis,” the democrat said.
It can already be assumed that the PDK will support the initiative of the LDK, since the party and its unofficial leader, “President” Hashim Thaçi, got the most from Albin Kurti and his “Self-determination”, who did not call the main “democrat” anything other than a “traitor”, constantly declaring that Kosovo needs to change its president.
Just the other day, the Prime Minister initiated a vote in parliament, as a result of which it was decided that negotiations with Belgrade should now be carried out by the head of the Council of Ministers, and not the president.
In turn, the head of the Alliance for a New Kosovo, ex-“President” Behdjet Pazoli said that his faction will vote for no confidence in the Kurti government.

A similar readiness was expressed by the former “prime minister”, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj, who, although he also advocates maintaining XNUMX% duties on Serbian goods, nevertheless noted that Kurti did not retain the duties (the leader of “Self-Determination” only went to their partial abolition, blackmailing Belgrade and playing on Washington’s nerves), and did not reach an agreement with the United States.
The prime minister's chair in front of Albin Kurti, a supporter of the "Greater Albania" project - the unification of all lands inhabited by Albanians into one state, began to shake after he, having assumed the position of "Prime Minister" of Kosovo, demonstrated his unwillingness to compromise.
At one time, Washington relied on him as a civilian politician, hoping that, having replaced the regime of the KLA militants, he would achieve progress in negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, but he miscalculated.
At first, Kurti openly negatively perceived the American project of the Balkan mini-Schengen, declaring that he was in favor of an “Albanian maxi-Schengen”, on the basis of which he quarreled with Kosovo’s main ally, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
And subsequently he refused to submit to Washington’s demands and cancel XNUMX% duties on Serbian goods until “reciprocity” - Serbia’s recognition of goods labeled “Made in Kosovo” and subsequently the region’s independence.
