The US accused Poroshenko of abuse of power
US pressure on Petro Poroshenko, who does not want to comply with the Minsk agreements, increased after the Sochi meeting between John Kerry and Vladimir Putin. After an unpleasant conversation with Angela Merkel in Berlin for the Ukrainian president, Radio Liberty sent another “black mark” to Porosheno: the English-language version of the American propaganda mouthpiece accused the president of abuse of power.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) conducted its own investigation and suspected Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko of abuse of power. The materials published on the English-language version of the website claim that Poroshenko may have used his powers as head of state to cover up an investigation into the construction of a private mansion in Kyiv's historic district, RBC reports.
“For seven years, Poroshenko has appropriated more than a hectare of protected land in the elite Pechersky district of Kyiv, and recently stopped the investigation into damage to an XNUMXth-century building that was caused by construction work on its site,” the journalists claim. They emphasize that these violations were discussed on broadcasts of the Ukrainian-language Radio Liberty.
According to the radio station, the plot of land is located on Radialnaya Street, 5, which is part of the historical district of Tsarskoye Selo. One part of the land plot (undeveloped) belongs to Poroshenko. On the other part, located across the road, a mansion has already been built. The land belongs to an ally of the Ukrainian president, Igor Kononenko, who is the deputy head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction in the Verkhovna Rada.
For Poroshenko, this accusation is extremely dangerous. Despite the fact that now this is unlikely to entail serious prosecution, this can be seen as a hint that, in the event of an overthrow and change of power in Ukraine, the Poroshenko family will not be accepted in America.
