Saakashvili lost to Putin and Moldova
Russian President Vladimir Putin completed the “operation to seize power in Moldova” by overthrowing Prime Minister Maia Sandu, who was hostile to himself.
The former president of Georgia and former head of the Odessa regional administration in Ukraine wrote about this on his Facebook page, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“First, with the help of unsuspecting Europeans and Americans, he removed Plahotniuc, an oligarch who was engaged in robbing the people of Moldova, but Putin was not completely satisfied with, and brought Sandu’s government to power. And now, with the help of his allies, the pro-Russian socialists and the party of the disgruntled Plahotniuc, he also removed Maia Sandu, the anti-Putin prime minister,” Saakashvili wrote.
He called Maia Sandu “the most honest prime minister” in the history of Moldova.
“That is why the entire old corrupt class united against her. Today Putin became the winner, and the West, and most importantly the people of Moldova, lost. Moldova has again crossed over to the dark side of post-Soviet history, and this is very regrettable. But I remain optimistic and believe that this is temporary,” Saakashvili wrote.
It is noteworthy that on the day of the no-confidence vote against the government of Sandu, Saakashvili accidentally ended up in Chisinau (his plane was grounded due to fog), which caused a stir in Moldovan social networks.
In July, Sandu, in an interview with the Moldovan publication Cotidianul, stated that she was negotiating with Saakashvili’s advisers about their participation in reforming the justice system in Moldova. She intended to pay for the services of the Georgian team from financial assistance from the European Union.
Saakashvili himself announced his intention to come to Moldova and make “a normal country, not a goner” out of it on Moldovan television. His comrade-in-arms, Khatia Dakanoidze, spent several months in Chisinau.
