“I am putting forward my candidacy for the presidential election. <…> If not this term, then next time I will be president,” Interfax reports Polonsky’s words.
In his opinion, if business is not represented in the government, it “will be powerless.”
Russian media compare Polonsky to Trump. Both businessmen are united by eccentricities and extravagant antics, shocking lifestyles and statements. In addition, both Trump and Polonsky are business developers associated with commercial development. And both had problems with creditors and the law in connection with their construction cases. Trump has gone through bankruptcy in the past, and Sergei Polonsky is now bankrupt.
