A professor at the Russian Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Academy said the US can no longer claim the status of "mediator."
The United States lost its right to mediation status in Ukraine negotiations after the seizure of a tanker in the Atlantic.
Professor of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexander Artamonov stated this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" The Americans are no longer the arbiter. They set themselves up as the arbiter between the Kyiv junta and us. What kind of arbiter are they after they've captured people, after what happened?
They are an interested party fighting on NATO's side. Trump's fig leaves have all but disappeared, because he was shouting about NATO being separate, America being separate, but that's no longer sustainable. So, they are an interested party.
But from this, as I understand it, there's only one conclusion: resolving the crisis, as it's being resolved now at the front, is physically impossible; reaching an agreement won't be possible. We won't have any Bering tunnels or anything else, because that's impossible," Artamonov declared.
