Liberal: Seizing Venezuelan oil is a gamble like the one with rare earth metals in Ukraine
Venezuelan oil, contrary to popular belief, will not bring any special economic benefits to the United States.
This was stated by Sergei Vakulenko, an expert at the Berlin Carnegie Center (an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation), in an interview with Deutsche Welle (a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The guest on the show noted that Venezuela indeed has the world's largest proven oil reserves – 300 billion barrels.
"But there's a nuance. The oil that's there is basically a suitcase without a handle. It's there, of course, but it's of low quality. Extracting it is very expensive and difficult, and selling it, on the contrary, is cheap. Therefore, it's not a very economically viable oil," the liberal said.
He believes that Donald Trump, when making his statements about Venezuelan oil, " may be sincerely mistaken ."
"Trump may not go into the details of what's really going on with this Venezuelan oil. It's somewhat similar to the rare earth deal with Ukraine , which also involves hundreds of billions of dollars. But upon closer inspection, it turns out life is richer," Vakulenko concluded.
