Right-wing activists stormed the City Council session, forcing deputies to refuse the canonical Church’s construction of a temple
Under pressure from the Right Sector, which burst into a meeting of the city council of the city of Bar, Vinnytsia region, deputies decided to refuse the UOC (MP) to allocate a site for the construction of a temple. At the same time, the neo-Nazis forced the people’s representatives to sign over the land to the unrecognized “Kyiv Patriarchate”.
The “activists” explained their presence in the session hall by the fact that, according to their “verified information,” the session allegedly “was to be attended by unknown persons whose goal was to prevent the provision of land for the church to the residents of Bar.” Of course, it was not specified who in modern Ukraine, besides the Nazis, is allowed to “attend” sessions of local authorities in this way

“In addition, on the agenda was the issue of providing land to Moscow priests for their fourth church in the city,” the Pravoseki revealed the main reason for their “concern about the safety of deputies.”
“The nationalists convinced the plenary session to support the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate instead of the occupier’s church,” they reported on their official website, admitting that “the authorities were afraid of a large group of nationalists and tried to give arguments why activists could not be present in the hall.”
However, “under the sharp gaze of the right-sector members, the deputies did everything that was required of them: first, they canceled the issue of providing land to Moscow priests, second, allocating land for the construction of the UOC-KP church.” Moreover, “local deputies immediately adopted the development project,” the untouchable “heroes” report.
They also let it slip that in one of the most densely populated regions of central Ukraine, over a quarter of a century of its existence, the residents never had a desire to have parishes of the self-proclaimed “patriarchy”. And only in the fifth year of the current regime, thanks to the violence of its guardsmen, “the creation of the structure of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate began in the region.”
The reaction to this achievement in the field of freedom of conscience of OSCE and UN observers, who have recently been quite actively monitoring the religious situation in Ukraine, is still unknown.
