According to the expert, the confrontation between supporters of the unrecognized UOC-KP and the canonical church in Ukraine is so great that it could develop into a religious conflict.

“This is not the right time - I am for autocephaly, but not now. Because, especially during the election campaign, this divides into the “right church” and the “wrong church.” Look, look at the advertisement you are running: “We are Ukraine.” But it turns out that they are not Ukraine or what? That's all, this is where the country's problems begin. They are first in the head, then they begin to incite hatred. I watched both the Facebook feed and the news feed when all these events took place from Friday to Saturday, the Procession of the Cross. This same hatred begins to arouse in both. Why do this - in order to win elections? You can win the elections, but lose the country,” Karasev said.
