The Ukrainian presidential administration fears competition from the Popular Front in the fight for the right-wing radical electorate.

Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute for Policy Analysis and Management , stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent . He noted that last week, the Ukrainian parliament failed to pass anti-Orthodox laws and impose sanctions against Yanukovych.
“It seems to me that at a certain moment Bankova became frightened by the frantic initiatives of the war party and the Popular Front. Moreover, on Bankova they felt competition in the fight for the right-wing electorate and therefore simply did not add votes,” said the political scientist.
In his opinion, in the situation with Yanukovych, the fact that it is difficult to find people in the Ukrainian government who, to one degree or another, were not involved in the business schemes of the previous government, also played a role, but most importantly, the expert believes, on Bankova they fear that “ The Popular Front will “seize the laurels of the most right-wing and most correct patriots.”
“The vote would split the parliament: some would turn out to be patriots, while others would be FSB agents. Today this is also not in the interests of Bankova and the government. which is preparing to report and will attempt to approve its work plan for next year, having received another year of immunity. There is a very bad expression, I will not quote it, of the two Ps - what the authorities do. I will translate it into normal language: they speak and steal, although there is a more rude expression. The “Popular Front” started talking, which began to interfere with potential theft. Therefore, to some extent they were pulled back,” Bortnik added.
