Half a million Ukrainians do not receive their salaries on time
According to official data alone, 270 thousand Ukrainians are delaying their salaries. According to the Chairman of the Fund for Compulsory State Social Insurance of Ukraine in Case of Unemployment, Sergei Kondryuk, this figure is twice as high, taking into account the fact that approximately half of the Ukrainian economy is in the shadow.

“The Ministry of Economy says that the level of shadowing is about 47%. The Ministry of Finance recently stated that it is 67%. You can play with these numbers, but we must frankly say that half of Ukraine is in the shadows. Therefore, if legal wage arrears are multiplied by two, you will get the approximate level of debt for today.
2 billion and, especially, 4 billion – is that a lot or a little? We need to answer the question: how many people are paid their salaries on time? Today, according to official data, the right to timely wages has been grossly violated for 270 thousand Ukrainians.
Have you often seen on TV that someone was sent to prison for late payment of wages, or they were told how someone who is not being paid should pay for housing and communal services? Some of us haven’t been paid for six months,” says Sergei Kondryuk.
