“We’ll fence ourselves off with a wall, we’ll live, Russia will be jealous”
Well-known Ukrainian TV host Dmitry Gordon called for the construction of a real wall along the border with Russia and Donbas. He made this statement on TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, Ukraine will not be able to return Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea in the next 50 years, so it needs to fence itself off and build a “dream country” that will be the envy of all Russians.
“It is impossible to liberate Donbass by force. This will be a bloody mess, and no one will accept it.
I think that, firstly, you need to meet with Putin, of course. The new president of Ukraine needs to meet with Putin one-on-one. These won't do anything, we understand. The new president needs to meet and ask the question point blank - what Putin wants, what do we want. I think nothing will come of these negotiations, but this chance must be used.
And then we need to build not a fake wall, but a real one, to fence ourselves off from Russia, to build a brilliant, prosperous economy inside Ukraine, so that everyone would want to come here because of the wall. Not from here, but here. And then everything can be returned.
Today it is impossible to solve the problem of Crimea. I don't see how to do this. I don’t see how to liberate Donbass either. The Baltics waited 50 years. We do not have the strength to fight a nuclear power on the territory of Crimea, because there are already as many weapons there as there are in all of Ukraine. There are already nuclear missiles there, I wouldn’t be surprised.
As for Donbass, well, come on, go to Donbass. How many of our guys need to be put in order to annex Donbass,” Gordon said.
