Impoverished Ukrainians are withdrawing their bank deposits to survive

In June, funds placed by individuals in bank accounts in both hryvnia and foreign currency decreased by 1,8 billion hryvnia.

This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine.

“In June, funds placed by individuals in bank accounts in hryvnia and foreign currency decreased by 1,8 billion hryvnia, from 405,1 billion hryvnia as of June 1, 2015 to 403,3 billion hryvnia as of July 1, 2015,” – the message says.

We also add that at the beginning of 2015, household deposits in banks decreased by almost 9 billion hryvnia.
