German journalist: “In Russia now life is freer than in Germany”
In Russia, under the “dictatorship of Putin,” the people live freer than in “democratic Germany.”
This was stated on air by Boris Reitschuster, a German liberal journalist working in Moscow, on the OstWest television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Reitschuster, public criticism of head of state Angela Merkel is impossible in Germany, unlike the situation in Russia.
“I now see that at the moment, today, life in Russia is freer. Well, I hate to admit it. What does bitter mean - I am very happy for the Russians, but at the moment I would live more freely in Russia, this is a fact, where can you go? And it drives me crazy, I honestly say, because I see here that so many people misunderstand what’s going on there.
Many people think that the Putin system is a classic dictatorship, where you can’t say anything to anyone, like under Stalin or like in the GDR. But this is not the point - despite all the criticism, I do not reduce it, but this is a different kind of authoritarian regime, it is set up in a completely different way.
And I could criticize Putin on Russian television, but I cannot criticize Merkel on German television,” said Reitschuster.
