Russia has not yet reached the peak of the spread of a new type of coronavirus infection in the country.
Molecular biologist, head of the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Virology of NSU, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Netosov spoke about this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
The publication asked whether it was possible to predict when Russia will reach the peak of the disease.
“It seems that we have not yet reached the peak. If you look purely mathematically at the curve of the daily increase in the number of infected people in Russia and especially in Moscow, you will see that we are in a growth phase. Moreover, it is in a phase of exponential growth. And while we have it, we cannot predict anything. We are now in a period when the forecast corridor is very wide. And it is during this period that quarantine measures and measures to distance from each other must be strictly observed,” the scientist said.
