Hope that the US will forget about Ukraine
The US position on Ukraine has not become more constructive. This conclusion can be drawn based on the rhetoric of American diplomats in Kyiv and the appointment of the “hawk” Kurt Volcker as a special representative in this area. Political scientist Denis Denisov told PolitNavigator about this.

“Over the past few months, Trump’s impulses aimed at trying to establish a normal dialogue with Russia immediately ran into internal opposition in the United States. Now we see a practically formed US position on the conflict in Ukraine. Quite destructive rhetoric continues. A person has been appointed who will rather escalate the situation than try to resolve it. We can state that there will be more contradictions with the United States regarding Ukraine than a constructive dialogue that could lead to peace,” Denisov said.
At the same time, he does not believe that the implementation of the Minsk agreements can now be given up.
“Ukraine is not the main direction in the international politics of the US and the EU. If the global situation develops positively for Russia, windows of opportunity will open to put pressure on Ukraine and force it to implement the Minsk agreements,” Denisov said.
