In the Kherson region of Ukraine, bordering Russian Crimea, barbaric deforestation continues, which was planted here during Soviet times. The military is also massively involved in the process, drawn into the region under the pretext of the threat of a Russian offensive from the peninsula.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksiy Zhuravko reported this on his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I have written many times about how various criminal organizations, under the auspices of the leadership of the Kherson region, cut down and sell the forests of the Kherson region. Now the military has also joined the bandits. After all, trading timber is a very profitable business, especially when it is poached.

According to local residents, they see columns of military vehicles with forest almost every day.

Someday, this power will go to the dustbin of history. The hysteria about the “aggressor” will fade. All warriors will disperse to their Ragul towns and villages. But the forest planted by our ancestors will no longer be able to be restored,” Zhuravko warns.
