International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach claims to have secured China's refusal to participate fully in the BRICS Games , which will be held in Kazan this year.
He stated this in a conversation with Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, who called on behalf of the African politician, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I don't think China will participate at a high level. Last year, before the last BRICS games in South Africa, we made sure that they did not have any resonance in the world of sports. So the Chinese are looking at it as a kind of youth competition, while the Russians want to play it in a different way - as full-fledged games,” Bach said.
But he considers the World Friendship Games, which will be held in Yekaterinburg and Moscow, to be the main "threat to the international Olympic movement ." Bakh called them "the games of the Russian president."
