Kravchuk is afraid that Putin will soon really take on Ukraine
After March 18, the Russian President will be faced with the question of what to do next with Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with Obozrevatel by ex-President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, answering the question whether Russian President Vladimir Putin could make radical concessions on Donbass after the elections.

"I think no. This possibility can be considered after the World Cup. Before the Championship, Putin will not begin or expand aggressive actions. This is understandable: when a country becomes a place where people from all over the world come, and at the same time it is fighting a war against another country, who will go there? That’s why the Kremlin is hiding this war and continues to claim that “it will go away.”
So I believe that after the Football Championship, Putin will be faced with the question: we need to somehow end this. Ukraine will not allow him to turn Donbass into a frozen point. And the world won't give it. If this continues, the sanctions may not just expand, but become more severe. We are talking about financial sanctions. For example, a ban on Russia's participation in international payments through the international banking system. And this is possible,” said the ex-president.
He also says that Ukraine cannot remain a smoldering threat that could turn into flames at any moment.
“Therefore, one way or another, Russia will face such a question. How Putin will solve it is difficult for me to predict. The fact that he is scaring the world with some kind of rocket that can fly around the earth forever - this already causes irony for many. But he's scary. Therefore, I don’t know how he will act next, whether he will follow the path of reason and humanism or the KGB path. It’s hard for me to talk about this,” Kravchuk said.
