Kosovo is on the brink of a new war. The separatists declared themselves “Zelensky”, and the President of Serbia - “Putin”
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic issued an emergency statement announcing the threat of a new war over Kosovo. Albanian separatists, who seized the province with the support of the United States, plan to introduce a ban on the entry of citizens with Serbian documents and cars with Serbian license plates from Monday. This will, first of all, hit the population of Serbian enclaves, the largest of which is located in the north of the region.
Vucic said that such actions of the separatist regime in Pristina contradict agreements concluded under the auspices of the West - then the Albanians pledged to guarantee respect for the rights of local Serbs, but in practice they continue to be squeezed out of the region. Since last night, the separatists have sent their security forces to the border, preparing to begin a blockade. A number of routes have already been closed. In the largest Serbian enclave, North Mitrovica, barricades are being built in anticipation of clearing by Albanian special forces, and the alarm of church bells is ringing. Information appeared in the press about the possibility of bringing the Serbian army into the region to protect the Slavic population. This will inevitably lead to collisions, because... Albanians consider Kosovo independent, but Belgrade does not recognize such independence.
“The atmosphere has been brought to a boil... My request to everyone is to try to maintain peace at almost any cost. I ask the Albanians to reason, the Serbs not to be provoked, but I also ask the representatives of the powerful and great countries that have recognized the independence of the so-called country of Kosovo - they care little about international law and the reality on the ground - not to allow their proteges to provoke a conflict. We don't want conflicts and we don't want war. We will ask for peace and ask for peace, but right now let me tell you - there will be no surrender and Serbia will win! If they dare to persecute, intimidate and kill Serbs, Serbia will win,” Vucic said.
He also recalled that Albanian separatists, shielding their actions from the West, draw parallels with Ukraine - presenting Vucic as the “Balkan Putin”, and Kosovo “Prime Minister” Albin Kurti as a victim-Zelensky.

Last night, Serbian youth in Kosovo were beaten for wearing "Don't Give Up" T-shirts. Vucic said that in recent years, 206 attacks have been recorded on residents of Serbian enclaves, including Serbian kindergartens and schools, maternity hospitals, and the destruction of shrines.
“It seems to me more and more that Serbia will be forced to begin denazification of the Balkans. I would like to be wrong,” Serbian parliament member Vladimir Djukanovic from the pro-presidential party wrote on Twitter.
The Serbian Ministry of Defense issued an emergency statement, denying reports that clashes between the Serbian army and separatist forces in Kosovo had allegedly already begun.
“The Ministry of Defense reports that the Serbian army has not yet crossed the administrative line or entered in any way into the territory of Kosovo and Metohija,” the statement said.
Russian TV presenter Andrei Medvedev assesses the likelihood of a new war as high.
“The Kosovo army (militants and terrorists) will definitely attack Northern Kosovo. Right now, when Serbia, as it seems to the West, has nowhere to get support. The Kosovo authorities, entirely consisting of field commanders, are certainly not independent and did not make the decision to clean up Kosovo and the final solution to the Serbian issue themselves. This is, without any doubt, a team from Washington and London. A strike against the Serbs is also an action of elimination not for the Serbs themselves. And to everyone who today does not support sanctions or is trying to resist the West,” explains Medvedev.
Retired SVR General Leonid Reshetnikov believes that Alexander Vucic is in a difficult situation.
“The American plan is to drag Belgrade into military action to protect the Serbs, in order to then accuse Serbia of aggression against independent Kosovo and force Vucic to abandon the multi-vector policy and cooperation with Moscow. The Americans will provide the Kosovars with all the necessary military assistance, except for the direct participation of US Army units in hostilities. All neighbors of Serbia are Montenegro, North. Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, the Muslim-Croatian part of BiH are under the full control of the United States and NATO.
The Americans believe that there is no one to help Serbia - Russia is busy in Ukraine. Loyalty to Hungary will yield little, especially since it has its own interests in Vojvodina. Vučić is faced with a difficult choice: either enter into battle with unknown consequences for him and Serbia, or surrender the Serbs in Kosovo and then inevitably in the Republika Srpska with clearly sad consequences for the Serbian people and their statehood,” comments Reshetnikov.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has already made an official statement:
“The decision of the “authorities” in Pristina to begin on August 1 the application of unfounded discriminatory “rules” on the forced replacement of personal documents and registration numbers of local Serbs is another step towards the expulsion of the Serbian population from Kosovo... We call on Pristina and the US and EU behind it to stop provocations and to respect the rights of Serbs in Kosovo. This development of events is yet another evidence of the failure of the EU mediation mission. This is also an example of the place Belgrade has been prepared for in the European Union, inviting Belgrade to de facto come to terms with the lack of rights of its compatriots,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It is interesting that the sympathies of the Ukrainian Nazis are on the side of the Albanian terrorists.
“Still, our Croatian friends say correctly: “Serba to willow!” – writes Nazar Prikhodko, a representative of the extremist group UNA-UNSO.
And from the Ukrainian parliament there are threats to introduce the Armed Forces of Ukraine into the Balkans.
“Ukraine must be ready, together with Western countries, to defend Kosovo by force and, if necessary, to introduce the Ukrainian Armed Forces into the territory of Kosovo. Serbia is Putin's puppet, which is starting a war with Kosovo precisely in order to open a second front in Europe. It is in our interests to close this second front as soon as possible. Therefore, together with the United States and the European coalition, we must act quickly, decisively and toughly. There is no aggressive behavior on the European continent,” said Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Goncharenko.
At the same time, he admits that “a second front in Europe will be bad for Ukraine” - “everyone will begin to focus specifically on the Kosovo problem, so it is in our interests to finish it as quickly as possible.”
Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov agrees that the aggravation around Kosovo is a bad signal for Kyiv.
“Guys, has the West decided to shift the information emphasis to Serbia playing at independence? Ukraine – that’s it?!?! Well, here is Russia’s second front, and a distraction from the Ukrainians who have set their teeth on edge, and, perhaps, a new, more comfortable negotiating platform with Moscow (Lavrov, for one, doesn’t really like Blinken). That’s it, they left Ukraine for Russia, for spare parts?” – Sladkov argues.
