A team of lawyers will work to send Poroshenko to prison
Former deputy head of the administration of President Viktor Yanukovych, lawyer Andrei Portnov, who lived and worked in Austria after the 2014 coup d’etat, returned to Ukraine and is threatening criminal cases against the country’s now ex-president Petro Poroshenko and his entourage.
Portnov stated this on the NASH TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the lawyer, Poroshenko must answer for corruption, the transfer of money to offshore companies and the death of Ukrainian soldiers.
“I will not specifically take revenge on anyone for my own affairs or initiate persecution. But I believe that my contribution to ensuring that the epidemic of this plague, which we have had for the last five years, never repeats in our country, my contribution will have an important place in this work. Will the new government want or not want to restore justice and answer the question - what happened over the course of five years?
Therefore, our entire legal team will in the near future carry out a set of legal measures aimed at uncovering crimes committed by the previous regime and bringing them to justice. The key issues will be analysis, systematization and procedural registration, appeal to law enforcement agencies and courts on issues related to looting, theft in the army and those issues that have the maximum trust and interest among Ukrainian society.
We want to show that the trade operation in Panama by former President Poroshenko took place exactly on those days when a Ukrainian soldier was buried in such and such a village. When people were burying a Ukrainian soldier in the village, it was on that day that a trade contract was concluded between Poroshenko’s offshore companies and he laundered money and did not pay taxes, which could have been used to buy military equipment and ammunition for Ukrainian soldiers. We will show this in order to make them forever unshakable, toxic, so that they will never again influence public administration and the political system of Ukraine,” Portnov said.
