Kyiv police officers twisted the hands of a famous human rights activist
During the “Immortal Regiment” action in Kyiv, Kiev human rights activist, head of the Institute of Legal Policy and Social Protection, Elena Berezhnaya, was detained.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Internet resource “Glavkom”.
“Exclusive photographs of the “Glavkom” show that a woman who does not hide her pro-Russian views has attached a St. George’s ribbon, banned in Ukraine, to her clothes, which is used, in particular, by units of Russian-terrorist troops in the Donbass,” the publication is indignant. “During the arrest, Berezhnaya resisted, but law enforcement officers still managed to place Berezhnaya in a patrol car.”
In turn, the human rights group “Uspishna Varta” reported on its Facebook page that it had contacted Berezhnaya, who is now in the Pechersk district department.
“A lawyer is coming to see her. The police officers used physical violence against her; Elena Berezhnaya from the regional department will go to the hospital to receive medical care. Elena Berezhnaya asks all human rights and international organizations for help,” the human rights group said in a statement.
