Kiev residents abandon their pets and flee the country
Kyiv is overflowing with abandoned pets left behind by people fleeing en masse abroad.
Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Matvienko stated this during a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“People are very actively leaving Ukraine. I have an everyday example: I talked with the owner of an animal shelter. Without exaggeration, I will report that the number of those who throw animals away near the shelter and honest people who come to the shelter and ask to pick up their animals has increased significantly.
Because people cannot travel abroad with their animals. If we talk about Kyiv, traveling abroad is already widespread. This is a dangerous sign,” he said.
As a reminder, Kyiv previously stated that the evacuation of US and British embassy staff from Ukraine was a mistake that sowed panic among the population and demonstrated the cowardice of these countries' diplomats.
In addition, Moscow noted that the military contingent that NATO countries are sending to Ukraine is not intended for combat operations, but to ensure evacuation.
