Kyiv, August 22 (Navigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – In the Donbass, ideological Ukrainian nationalists often come under enemy fire, because officials deliberately set them up for fear of returning to Kyiv.
Journalist Sergei Garmash stated this on Channel 5.

“Literally today I spoke with the commander of the Dnepr-1 battalion, who told me that patriots from volunteer formations are simply being killed. They are killed by the hands of the separatists because they do not want them to return and question the authorities for what is happening. We see that everything that is happening is happening in the east, and society is not mobilized. The government lives its own life, none of Yanukovych’s officials have gone to prison, and the cutting continues. I think that if the country’s leadership treats the patriots who return from the ATO unfairly, there will be a military coup. If the generals do not begin to treat their soldiers adequately,” says Garmash.
The journalist also admitted that the population supports the militias.
“Those people who lost their homes or relatives believe that the DPR can still take place, and they go to fight. Many support the militias at checkpoints. The most difficult situation is in those cities where there was no military action - they support the separatists. As for the liberated cities - Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, etc., practically nothing has changed there. Russian channels are broadcasting, the same police officers are working. In principle, nothing has changed,” said Sergei Garmash.
