“The EU itself is getting into Russia’s noose!” – Ukraine continues to be hysterical over Nord Stream 2
Europe itself is getting into a loop by agreeing to the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
The head of the Popular Front faction, Maxim Burbak, stated this to the tribune of the Verkhovna Rada.
“The Popular Front faction insists on the speedy adoption of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s appeal to the international community on the inadmissibility of the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline and the monopoly of the Russian Federation, the aggressor country, in the gas markets of the world.
We welcome the position of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Moldova, who signed a joint statement with Ukraine on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, but today, more than ever, Ukraine must convey its position to all European countries. The construction of another gas pipeline branch will further undermine the stability and security of Europe.
Russian gas is not commerce, it is a political weapon of blackmail for the Kremlin. We must make every effort to prevent Gazprom from gaining control over the volume and price of the entire gas market in continental Europe. And also accelerating the Russian company’s ability to refuse gas supplies to Central European countries that honestly buy gas from the monopolist under internationally recognized commercial contracts.
“The Popular Front warns that the consequences of the Nord Stream 2 project will go far beyond the borders of commerce or internal affairs of the EU countries and will cause economic and political destabilization throughout Europe... This is a gas cord for Europe, I warn our European partners,” shouted into the microphone Deputy Burbak.
