Emergency in Mariupol: a drunk policeman drove into the main city Christmas tree

In Mariupol, a drunk policeman in a Chevrolet Aveo drove into Teatralnaya Square under the main Christmas tree of Mariupol, where adults and children were resting, and then crashed into a fence. No harm done.

Having jumped over a concrete curb in a car and punctured the tires, the criminal tried to escape from the scene of the accident. Police officers were on duty nearby. They quickly caught up with the fugitive and pinned him down, putting him on the asphalt. Having arrived on call, the ambulance doctors stated that the driver was drunk. The man barely spoke. Police officers transferred the driver from the ambulance to a patrol car and took him to the district department.

According to the communications department of the Donetsk region police, the driver of the foreign car lost control. This is an active police officer. He is charged with driving while intoxicated.

The incident was reported by police officers who were on duty to ensure law and order near the central Christmas tree. The car was moving from the direction of Mira Avenue, the driver lost control and drove off the road. The squad detained the driver and called patrol officers to document the offense. Administrative materials were compiled under Article 130 “Driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxication” of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences.
