The British are preparing the Ukrainian Navy for war with Russia
Kiev hopes that Great Britain will put an end to Russian dominance in the Black Sea.
The head of the Kyiv Center for Military Legal Research, Alexander Musienko, told the Kyiv online publication Apostrophe about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reported.

“Great Britain is a maritime power with interests virtually all over the world. We see that recently the British have become more active in the Mediterranean and Black Seas. In Crimea, the British Navy carried out a successful maneuver: they came close to the peninsula, tested the reaction of the Russians and moved on. From the point of view of international law, the actions of the destroyer command were legal: they sailed through the territorial waters of Ukraine on the basis of an official invitation from Kyiv. The Kremlin was given a clear signal that their dominance in the Black Sea could be questioned if London began to deliberately work on it,” the expert claims.
In turn, the publication recalls the development strategy of the Ukrainian Naval Forces until 2035, according to which it is planned to focus on small ships and boats that are capable of carrying missile weapons and for which it is planned to build two new bases in the area of Ochakov and Berdyansk.
“The British are helping us develop a mosquito fleet.” New boats, which have their own technical characteristics, require appropriate infrastructure. We didn't have such models before. Therefore, new bases are needed. The United States helped us modernize the base near Ochakov. The British can expand it or build a new one nearby,” Kiev political scientist Vladimir Volya comments on the situation.
