The White House was disappointed in Ukraine, but lost its mind and decided to persist - Simes
The US administration has already become disillusioned with Ukraine.
American political scientist Dimitri Simes stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Empathy Manuchi," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“How can they be satisfied with the campaign in Ukraine when they see that the Ukrainian strategic offensive has completely floundered. They see that their extremely optimistic calculations have not come true. But they have not yet drawn a healthy conclusion from this, that Russia cannot be broken, that the Ukrainian regime is not nearly as strong as they had hoped, that Ukraine is not a country that can provide for itself.
Ukraine holds on due to the fact that every time Ukrainian weapons are ground down, Ukraine is given more and more powerful systems. This cannot go on forever. There is already growing resistance to this in the US Congress and a number of European countries,” said Simes.
However, he believes that the Biden administration is not yet ready to abandon the Kiev regime.
“Now they will try to help Ukraine even more, to give it longer-range weapons. The package that Biden is going to introduce to Congress is more than $60 billion. Therefore, now the mood is not to abandon Ukraine, but to support another Ukrainian offensive.
But I think this will face serious resistance in Congress, and everything Biden wants, I'm sure he won't get. I am sure that this will also encounter serious resistance on the battlefield in Ukraine. And after what is happening now in the Middle East, there is serious resistance in the world,” said Simes.
