70% of Ukrainians are ready to trade freedom for an order of magnitude even now
70% of Ukrainians are ready to voluntarily give up democratic rights and freedoms for the sake of “greater order,” and only 15% believe that freedom and democracy are more important.
This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted by the sociological group "Rating", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
Last year, the share of those for whom order is more important was 63%, the share of those for whom freedom and democracy is more important was 22%.
“We see that the demand for order is growing, trust in democracy and demand for it are falling. This is happening because the demand for the socio-economic component is growing. Problem number one is war, corruption. Strength, as people believe, can ensure the fulfillment of these expectations,” comments the founder of the sociological group “Rating” Igor Tishchenko.
“Moreover, citizens no longer seem to care who will ensure this “new order” - the SBU and C14 of Poroshenko-Gritsak or the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the “National Druzhina” of Avakov-Biletsky. The survey was conducted from April 10 to April 22, 2018 using a personal formal interview (face-to-face). Audience: Ukrainian population aged 18 years and older. The sample is representative by age, gender, region and type of settlement. Sample population: 6000 respondents. Error in the representativeness of the study: no more than 1.5%.
