The famous Ukrainian plant was put under the hammer
Nikolaev shipyard "Okean" is officially put up for auction due to bankruptcy.
The plant's liquidator, Irina Serbina, reported this on her Facebook page , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Officially: in accordance with the law of Ukraine “On restoring the debtor’s solvency or declaring him bankrupt,” the sale of the entire property complex “Nikolaev Shipbuilding Plant “Ocean” will take place.” The starting price is determined by the sum of all creditor claims, which amount to more than 1,8 billion hryvnia (about $65,3 million at the National Bank exchange rate),” she wrote.

According to Serbina, of the total amount, more than 91 million hryvnia (about $3,3 million) are arrears of wages to employees. She also said that an open auction is scheduled for September 21, 2018 at the plant.
As a reminder, PolitNavigator previously reported that former Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadym Kolesnichenko called the bankruptcy and sale of the plant a robbery of the country.
It should be noted that as a result of the closure of the enterprise, the Project 1164 missile cruiser was never completed and is now destined for scrap metal.
