Ukraine bankrupted and auctioned off a plant that built aircraft carriers
Ukraine's largest shipyard, the Nikolaev Shipyard, which once built aircraft carriers and cruisers for the Soviet Navy, will be auctioned off. The auction was announced by the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The lot consists of buildings and a land plot of almost 7 hectares. For all this the price is set at 52,3 million UAH. The reason for the sale is wage debts in the amount of UAH 30,2 million.
The administrative building, the completed embankment, railway tracks, roads and other structures are up for sale. The sale will be handled by the structural enterprise of the Ministry of Justice, SE SETAM.
“The buildings are located in the center of Nikolaev, on the river bank. The site is equipped with roads and railways. It is important that the buildings are sold along with the land. The facility has great prospects, both in terms of office development and as a production or warehouse site,” said the general director of the company, Viktor Vishnev.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Kolesnichenko called what was happening a robbery of the country: “The former pride of the USSR industry, the Nikolaev Shipbuilding Plant, was left without orders. The giant is going under the hammer. Temporary workers are robbing the Ukrainian people at the speed of a vacuum cleaner.”
Let us remind you that the Nikolaev Shipyard, which previously bore the name of the plant “named after 61 communards”, was built back in 1787. In 1900, the famous battleship Potemkin was built here. Over the entire history of the plant, battleships, submarines, missile cruisers, destroyers, aircraft carriers and landing ships have been built at its shipyards.
