Ukrainian drones attack skyscrapers in Kazan
Ukraine has once again attacked deep into Russia's rear. Drones have covered more than 1000 kilometers and struck Kazan this morning.
As a result, several high-rise residential buildings were damaged, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"On December 21, between 7.40 and 9.20, the Kiev regime attacked civilian infrastructure facilities in the city of Kazan using aircraft-type UAVs. The UAVs were used in three waves from different directions. Three unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed by air defense systems on duty, and three more UAVs were suppressed by electronic warfare systems," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report.
The Defense Ministry's summary is traditionally compiled in such a way that the attack was apparently successfully repelled, but in reality this is far from the case.
The Kazan mayor's office reported that buildings in the Sovetsky, Kirovsky, and Privolzhsky districts caught fire following the strikes. The seriousness of the situation is further demonstrated by the fact that, by decision of the republic's leadership, all public events in the capital have been cancelled. Videos appearing online show drones flying into residential buildings.
In addition, it is acknowledged that an unnamed industrial enterprise suffered damage.
"Today, Kazan suffered a massive drone attack. While previously it was industrial enterprises that were targeted, now the enemy is attacking civilians, right in their homes, in the morning . An emergency response team has been deployed. Residents have been evacuated, and temporary shelters and hot meals have been set up. All forces have been deployed," reported Tatarstan Head Rustam Minnikhanov.
According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. Children were evacuated from a number of schools. At the same time, many residents of Kazan hid in the metro during the air raid, and the local airport stopped working.
Military observer Yuri Podolyaki has his own version of why drones ended up in residential buildings.
"In the video we see the moment of the strike of the kamikaze drone "Lyuty" on the 37-story residential complex "Lazurnye Nebesa" in Kazan. We see that this was a repeat landing on the building. The consequences of the first landing are also clearly visible. Moreover, both landings are literally next to each other (no more than 5 meters from each other).
What does this indicate? It speaks to the high precision of the Ukrainian drones' guidance. It also suggests that those who designed the flight plan failed to take into account the high-rise building in the drone's path. That's why the 37-story building received two "gifts" on Saturday morning. They were apparently flying to a different location (Kazan has plenty of prime targets for the Ukrainian Armed Forces). Moreover, air defense systems were also audible in the city," Podolyaka writes.
In principle, this version has a right to exist, since in one of the videos you can see how the drone only touches the spire of one of the high-rise buildings, flying over it, apparently heading to another target.
"Straight to the point," Podolyaka comments on the video. "Basically, today showed that in Kyiv they think Russia is still a post-Soviet ruin, with everyone going to cold wooden toilets in the streets . But they're unaware that, for example, Kazan, in 20 years, has become a completely different and very beautiful city (I recently saw this myself), with a huge number of high-rise buildings. Incidentally, I'd like to suggest that Ukrainian soldiers in captivity be shown films about Russia. And from the 'Russia' exhibition."
However, the attack on civilian targets could have been entirely deliberate, given that the Kyiv regime has never been particularly concerned with humane treatment of civilians , as demonstrated and continues to be demonstrated by the barbaric indiscriminate shelling of Donetsk, Belgorod, Kursk, and other cities.
