Germany in the Out: US and Russia Benefit from Western Sanctions – Wagenknecht
The US, a fading superpower, is fighting for its influence in the world and is doing so “ruthlessly, to the detriment of its allies in Europe and Germany.”
German opposition politician and leader of her party, Sahra Wagenknecht, announced this at the presentation of her Union's election program in Berlin, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There is currently a study underway in the United States about who is really benefiting from the economic sanctions that were imposed at the start of the Ukrainian war and the rapid rise in energy prices that followed.
"The result of this study is really remarkable. It shows that American energy companies are making huge profits. The second largest profit recipient is Saudi Arabia, and the third, by the way, is Russia," Wagenknecht said.
She believes that the refusal of cheap Russian gas makes Germany's "green transition" program impossible. Companies are going bankrupt, and the money is flowing to the United States.
